The Department of Electronics and Materials Science offers a Master’s program in Engineering specializing in Electronics and Materials Science. Within this program, there are two fields: Electronic Devices Physics and Materials Energy Chemistry.
In the field of Electronic Devices Physics, the keywords include electronic devices, optical devices, energy conversion devices, and nanodevices. Faculty members in this field conduct research in one or more of these areas.
In the field of Materials Energy Chemistry, the keywords include organic materials, inorganic materials, optical materials, and energy materials. Faculty members in this field also conduct research in one or more of these areas.
One of the distinguishing features of the Engineering program in Electronics and Materials Science is the high number of foreign faculty members (four as of June 2014). Additionally, there are many core faculty members, totalling nine as of June 2014, who have led research across Shizuoka University as a whole.
